March 19, 2015 - 2015 International Transgender Day of Visibility

Reen welcomes Phillip White-Cree Mohawk Council of Akwesasne Safe Zone Committee, Kit Thomas Local Artist and LGBTQ Advocate, Konwahahawi Rourke Native North American Travelling College and LGBTQ Advocate and Abe Francis MCA Community Health Representative to promote the local celebration of the ITDV.  

ITDV will be celebrated in Akwesasne Sunday, March 29 from 9:00 AM-1:00 PM at the Akwesasne Housing Authority Training Center.  

The days events will include a Guest Speaker Katie Rain Hill, author of "Rethinking Normal:  A Memoir in Transition", which is her memoir on her transition from a boy to a girl.  

Bear Fox will debut a new original song titled "Acceptance".  

Kit Thomas will unveil a new piece of art to mark the Akwesasne celebration of ITDV.

The event is sponsored by the Mohawk Council of Akwesasne Safe Zone Committee, the MCA Akwesasne Family Wellness Program and local volunteers.

March 10, 2015 - The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne's Iatathrona Raotiientahtsera Couple's Property Law Referendum

Reen sits down with the MCA Chief Electoral Officer Leona Benedict, MCA Akwesasne Justice Department Director Joyce King and MCA Justice Coordinator Kyrie Ransom to discuss the Iatathrona Raotiientahtsera Couple's Property Law Referendum which is continuing until March 31, 2015.  Learn how and where MCA Members can vote, regardless of residency.  The actual referendum question itself is presented and what happens in the case of a NO/YES vote is shared.
