For the Month of August the Akwesasne Zero 2 Six free drop-ins will be at the Akwesasne Library on Tuesdays from 10-Noon and at the Snye Recreation center and the Island Recreation Center from 4-6 p.m. Wednesdays will be at Rosie Pooh Designs from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. and 3-4:30 p.m., Thursdays will be at the A'nowara'ko:wa Arena from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. and Saturdays at the Tsi Snaihne Child Care Center from 10 a.m.-Noon.

WEDNESDAY AUGUST 28th at the Kanatakon Recreation Center from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

The 40th Annual Akwesasne Freedom School’s Quilt Auction and Survival Race will finish on SUNDAY AUGUST 25th with the Quilters Bingo from Noon – 1 p.m. There will be live entertainment from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. There will be a steak and cornbread dinner beginning at 11 a.m. until all is sold and then the Quilt Auction bidder registration is from Noon -1 p.m. and the auction begins at 1 p.m. For more information on any of these events call (518) 358-2073.

The Planning and Infrastructure road crew will begin milling Helena Rd. on MONDAY, AUGUST 26th. The road will be closed to local traffic only. Please find an alternate route and use extreme caution where work is being performed.

The Tri-district Elders will be chartering a bus to the NYS Fair for FRIDAY AUGUST 30th; they will be leaving the Tri-District Elders at 8 a.m. and will not be making any stops in the US portion of Akwesasne.
