PIGS FOR SALE

Looking to purchase a hog? Beginning on MONDAY, AUGUST 24th, the SRMT Agriculture Program is taking names for fall pigs. Purchase half a hog for $120 or whole for $240, processing fees is the customer’s responsibility. Sign up by calling the Environment Office at (518) 358-5937 ext. 5059, or stop by the Akwesasne Farmer's Market at Generations Park Thursdays and Saturdays from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

SRMT higher Education

The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe's Higher Education office is reminding students that it is imperative that they have an updated SRMT Vendor Form on file.  This will help ensure that school checks are processed faster. Akwesasne Farmer’s Market

The Akwesasne Farmer’s Market has returned to Generation’s Park! They’re open weekly, Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Community Members are encouraged to redeem their Farmer’s Market Coupons here! They look forward to seeing you this summer!

TRIBAL CLERK's OFFICE

The Tribal Clerk's Office would like to inform the community that their office is currently closed to the public and is NOT providing service for any walk-in visitors; however, they are able to provide limited services by appointment or mail. Office hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Social Security Representative visits are currently suspended until further notice. The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne’s General Meeting is scheduled to take place on THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 24th at 6 p.m. via Zoom. SUICIDE PREVENTION

Everyone in Akwesasne can help prevent a loss to suicide.  On THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 24th. the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe Mental Health Services and the Akwesasne Suicide Prevention Committee invite anyone ages 15 and above to attend a free, virtual 2-hour suicide prevention gatekeeper training – QPR; Question, Persuade, Refer – three simple steps to save a life from suicide. There will be two sessions offered, 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. or 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Please call (518) 358-3145 to register or for more information.

SEVEN DANCERS COALITION MOVED

Seven Dancers Coalition would like to inform that community that it has moved to a new location at 1569 State Route 37 (the old AK Gas Station).  They are remaining closed this week to settle in and organize.  The Community Closet is also temporarily closed. 2020 Haudenosaunee Virtual Juried Art Show

Thompson’s Big Bass Showdown

Community Members are invited to Thompson’s Big Bass Showdown, a one-day tournament on SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 26th! Participants must fish for 3 small-mouth bass and must be kept alive for weighing. Adults may enter for $50 with first, second, and third place cash prizes based on the number of entries.
