The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne is delaying its reopening of services and buildings to the public to MONDAY JULY 20th. Programs and staff require additional time to adjust to the changes necessary due to the ongoing pandemic. New processes and procedures are being implemented to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 and the safety of our community and staff is of utmost importance.

The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne, Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe and The Hogansburg Akwesasne Volunteer Fire Department are still enforcing a community-wide Akwesasne fire ban. During the ongoing state of emergency due to COVID-19, please refrain from starting large, open fires; fires in a burning barrel; or bonfires that contain leaves, grass or brush. Although, it is acceptable for individuals to make small fires in contained fire pits, such as the metal or stone fire pits you can purchase at a store.

For more information Stacy can be reached anytime Monday through Friday at at (518) 391-5842.
